Saved by Grace

The following post is by Tracey Casciano as part of the Life-Changing Scriptures for Writers Project.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8, New Living Translation)

The passage in Ephesians 2:8 defines my calling as a writer as my story is a reflection of His grace. I searched for a relationship with Jesus as I struggled to understand how and why I had survived a life with abusive parents. Once I understood the sacrifice that God made for me, I knew that my life was an example of His grace. It was because of His grace that I was able to forgive my parents and move on to live a life that is full of His love. I started writing about my experiences and named my blog Grace. I felt God calling me to share my story with others and was very scared. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to write a book that would glorify Him. As I continued to wrestle with the idea of a book, I began speaking. It was then that my calling to write a book about my journey to faith and forgiveness was made clear to me. God has been with me every step of the way and my book is helping others.
